Love and Logic
I was fortunate to attend 3 love and logic course classes that our district offered to pay for. I was not able to attend all the classes due to schedule conflicts, but I was able to take a few things from the classes I made it to. The one thing that I use the most is saying "I like you too much to argue" if a student tries to test me. There's not much they are able to say back to me and it seems to be working. I was happy to touch base with love and logic again during our last NTI meeting.

New Teacher Orientation
Yesterday was my first day of "new" Teacher orienation held at EVMS because EVHS was still under construction. I was a little nervous, being fresh out of college and a virgin to the teaching world that I was going to feel out of place orientation...but boy was I wrong. I was comforted by an annonymous poll taken at orientation to find that the other "new" Teachers liked skiing, dogs, beer, were mostly single, young and non-bloggers. I guess the non-bloggers and myself are on a journey together to figure this blogging thing out and share with eachother our experiences as we embark on our first year in either a new school, subject, or step in our new pair of Teacher shoes.
This morning (in about 40min) continues day 2 of "new" Teacher orientation. To be continued...
